The Golden Lion takes it's complaints seriously. After the fiasco of our Christmas Day meal, we were offered a complimentary Afternoon Tea. The Service was quick and polite and the Tea was absolutely lovely. Thank you, Janet & Cheryl.
First time staying here and it was perfect. Room large and spotless. Breakfast first class. Welcome reception and found all staff attentive and helpful. Watched the tide coming in whilst sitting on a very comfortable sofa in the bar. Best views ever of the setting sun. We will definitely return. Well recommended.
Fantastic last minute night away at The Golden Lion. Travelling with my husband and toddler. I called on Saturday to ask which room would work for us and booked direct with the hotel. I didn’t get a name but the lady that answered the phone was great, really helpful and gave me some options. The room was beautifully decorated, bright spacious and spotlessly clean. Parking on site is in the car park behind the hotel so super convenient. Really good breakfast options and served in a lovely room overlooking the green and the sea. Throughout our stay the staff could not have been more helpful and lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. The reception, the staff at breakfast and the staff in the restaurant were all fantastic and looked after us so well. A real example of great customer service. We loved it. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Can only comment on Room 26. Very clean.Dated bedroom furniture - too large for room. Small TV for wall ( no cables visible or hanging though a plus) Reading chair a great touch. All staff were excellent. Never stayed before but visited for many years.Vastly improved.
Sophie from the restaurant accommodated us on New Year's Day for lunch after being turned away by Fishers fish and chips as they were fully booked. The fish and chips are a level above the chip shops nearby and I would recommend The Golden Lion hotel to anyone visiting Hunstanton, our new favourite restaurant! The staff who were working were all so polite helpful and a credit to the company Thank you all at the Golden Lion and a happy new year see you again in 2026
Great location with views of the sea walking distance to the beach and pier and shops. We has a superior room which was on the ground floor. The room was a nice size big ensuite with a lovley shower in. The room we had was clean and well decorated, parking was at the rear of the hotel at a charge of £6 a night, you could park of the front for free if u can get space
We returned for another relaxing break in this fabulous hotel. Great food, comfortable, clean rooms and amazing staff. Thank you for your care and wonderful hospitality towards we four happy friends and our two black dogs from Northampton.
Fabulous place great ambience rooms lovely recently refurbished lovely conservatory with sea views. Outdoor seating and small play area for children. Breakfast choice fabulous i had something different to eat each day. Evening menu could be slightly more choice as there is so much good produce around would have liked more simple ingredients to make the most of it. Slightly pricey food in comparison to nearby restaurants but I guess your paying for the premises.
